Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, recently revealed the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, which has pretty some aggressive renewable energy goals.
Included in the strategy are a few remarkable objectives:
The initial goal of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy is to generate 7 percent of Dubai’s energy from solar by 2020. But those targets quickly jump to to 25 percent by 2030 and then 75 percent by 2050.
Another part of Dubai’s ambitious renewable energy strategy is providing financing options for those looking to participate in the move to clean energy sources.
The strategy involves the establishment of the Dubai Green Fund, which will provide $27 billion worth of low-interest financing for projects involved in clean energy.
